November 29 & 30, 2016 – Final meeting APPsist

The final meeting of APPsist took place at the Lehrstuhl für Produktionssysteme (LPS), Ruhr-Universität in Bochum (RUB). 25 participants got together to sum up the status of the project. Over the period of 3 years many results have been implemented in the LPS learning factory and the partners Brabant und Lehnert GmbH, Festo AG and MBB Fertigungstechnik GmbH. Furthermore, APPsist demonstrated the research project at this years Cebit, Hanover Fair and at the national IT-Gipfel in Saarbrücken. Prof. Dr. Dieter Kreimeier (LPS RUB) thanked the partners and complimented their efforts and good teamwork. He said that many questions and problems could be solved, but in the course of project developments also additional challenges arised. The positiv results were influenced due to the interdisciplinary skills in the project team and the close cooperation with the social partners.

November 16-17, 2016 – Nationaler IT-Gipfel

This year’s “National IT-Gipfel” took place in Saarbruecken. Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel visited the APPsist exhibition stand and sucessfully handled a troubleshooting of the demonstrator by using the application. Further informationen

October  13, 2016 – Symposium “Digitale Innovationen für die Industrie“

The “Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie” held the symposium “Digitale Innovationen für die Industrie” on Ocotber 13, 2016 in Berlin. The conference which took place in Kosmos (Karl-Marx-Allee 131a, D-10243 Berlin) was the final event of the Technology Program “AUTONOMIK für Industrie 4.0″ and dealt with the results of the projects. Manufacturers, users, service providers and branch representatives could exchange information and knowledge.

July 14, 2016 – Symposium “Intelligent Services of the Smart Factory”

On July 14, 2016 the Research Project APPsist held the symposium “Intelligent Services of the Smart Factory” in Berlin. The conference dealt with scientific questions which resulted from the project development. Topics also included questions regarding the organization and implementation of Assistance Systems (e.g., APPsist), on- and near-the-job training, as well as application of the APPsist – Assistance Systems in production. We had lectures and panel discussions. Additionally, there were demonstrations of the application / utilization of the suitability of the APPsist System.
A big thank you to the organizers, especially the partners of DFKI, for the excellent event!

May 24 & 25, 2016 – 5th milestone meeting of APPsist

The 5th milestone-meeting of the APPsist project consortium took place at the DFKI labs in Berlin. 31 project partners got together to demonstrate their developments and states of their work packages. Among others, Dr. Carsten Ullrich, associate dean of educational technology lab at DFKI, showcased a demo on how the system currently adapts to different user expertises.
Thanks a lot to the organizers and all the participants for this very fruitful two-days event!

April 25 – 29, 2016 – Hannover-Messe

Also at the Hanover fair visitors were able to convince themselves of the advantages of the APPsist system by practical testing.
The control of a modular assembly system is linked with the assistance system and the operator is supported in different steps of commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance etc. The system responds immediately to changes in the state of the system, and adjusts itself adaptively to the respective expertise of the employee. In addition to the current support, needed by the employee in the actual situation, it is possible to access individually tailored learning and knowledge offers.

March 14 – 18, 2016 – CeBIT

At this year’s CeBIT the APPsist team has demonstrated in cooperation with the responsible Autonomik project OPAK a joint research project. Visitors could see at a jointly developed robotic cell, how to manage troubleshooting with intelligent services.
They were also able to test themselves how to remove a production disruption within the robotic cell, and thereby get an impression how the competencies of employees can be enlarged as well as independent working and learning can be supported.
Due to the high frequency of visits to our exhibition stand and the very interesting discussions with the expert visitors the APPsist team is highly satisfied.

September 29 & 30, 2015 – 4th milestone meeting of APPsist

Halftime for the project APPsist. The goal of this meeting was to collect and present project results and to talk with each other in Stuttgart at Fraunhofer IAO, just like it was at the last meetings. To do this, 30 project partners of the research consortium presented in common round the project’s progress. One of the presentations was about the expanded version of the assistance system that was introduced very practically with the help of a demonstrator of MBB. In addition first drafts for adaptivity of the system were developed and published.
Overall, a significant development could be perceived, on which all the accumulated experience that was made during the project had influence. The exchange of experience was very valuable to all participants. A big thank you to the organizers of the two-day event!
